Forget Hiring "Proofreader's" -- Just Read Some Guy's Blog
Update on CNN's "Obama's (sic) celebrate first Halloween at the White House" story: CNN has corrected the error in the headline. Perhaps not coincidentally, my web counter shows a visitor from the CNN Political Ticker blog admin account this afternoon.

This is a mistake I see all the time. Especially with television news web sites. But it's everywhere, including newspapers. Is it because staff is overworked from layoffs? Poorly trained and educated journalists? In any case, it's entirely possible the "rule" will change and the non-possessive 's will become grammatically correct. Such is the evolution of language.
